I'm Carl. Dropped out of college at 17, worked a season as a race car engineer, spent a couple of years inspecting boiler headers and flare stacks with cameras, then fell into software. That was 25 years ago.

Since then I've worked through Experian, Ticketmaster, Bet365, Caterpillar, and Bank of New York. Led platform engineering teams. Shipped the mobile sports book to millions of users. Ran engineering delivery for the London 2012 Olympics and the Rugby World Cup. Those deadlines don't move.

I also have City & Guilds in electrical installation and TIG welding. I like to understand how things actually work.

These days I'm building with AI. Not talking about it at conferences. Building with it. I've got an RTX 3090 in the garage running local models. AI agents that push code to their own git platform. A family app where my kids talk to an AI housekeeper called Nagatha who helps with meal planning and shopping lists. Llama Guard filters every message. I see everything. No third parties.

My youngest is six. I want her to have access to this technology. On my terms.

I'm PTA Chair and a school governor at my kids' primary school. Different kind of engineering.
